Wisconsin Dance Marathon

The Wisconsin Dance Marathon was a two-day dance marathon organized by University of Wisconsin students to benefit American Family Children's Hospital on Friday, February 27 at the The Shell, 1430 Monroe Street, right next to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

The Final Tally: $56,000 Raised

FTK For the Kids logoHundreds of avid dancers, who stayed on their feet and kept their legs moving for twelve hours straight, saw their efforts pay off in UW's first ever dance marathon last weekend.

The event generatedĀ more thanĀ $56,000 for the American Family Children’s Hospital.

The dancing attracted more than 300 participants, many of them students who went door-to-door to raise pledges. The evening included up-beat music, live entertainment by local bands and dance lessons.

"I was fortunate to experience firsthand the leadership, enthusiasm and enormous talent of the students," said Jeff Poltawsky, vice president for the American Family Children's Hospital. "In their first year, they exceeded all expectations, having raised more donations than any other Big Ten school in their first dance marathon."
